What if! (Part 1)
Today was awesome as usual, finally I got some time off from my ‘surreal work’, grabbing the opportunity I went to practice on my strikes and had an amazing time, however the awesome time is over, I was cycling back home, when I saw someone that caught my eyes, there was a girl that was walking down the streets, to admit she really caught my eye, since the past week i saw her walking down around here but i didn't really get to know where's she living!
I personally found her really beautiful, but i never got the opportunity to actually have a conversation with her! I fell hard! Yes! As astonishing as it may sound, i fell hard for this girl, even though i don't know anything about her! I sighed and just looked at her while cycling ever so slowly, however i guess the almighty had other plans,all of a sudden the paper bags she was carrying were torn and all the things that she was carrying fell down,she bend down frantically trying to pick all of them i cycled towards her and got down.
I walked towards her and bend down too and also began to pick up the items on the floor. She looked up at me and smiled lightly probably wanting to thank me for helping her, as we picked up all the things and I finally decided to at least start the conversation,
"hey ehh lemme me help you to carry em till your house"
She looked at me apologetically and spoke
"I'm sorry! and thanks a loads! Eh please follow me"
And with that she turned around and walked, while i decided to calm my breath! Seriously i never knew she was so cute and her sweet voice made my heart skip a few beats. I was still calming my breath and stared at her walking towards her house, and what shocked me more was that she was walking towards my neighbour's house. I rapidly walked in her direction, while leaving my bicycle behind mentally noting that I'll take it later! But what preoccupied me more was what was she going to do at my neighbour's place! Is she his sister or friend or worse his girlfriend! I gulped trying to swallow the bad feeling in my chest, as i reached at the house's doorstep, i waited for her to open the door, she glanced back and smiled,
"hey please do come in!"
I nodded, not really knowing what to say! To be true i never really liked my neighbour! Isaac Mccall! He was one hell of a troublesome guy! Drinking in broad daylight, a party animal and the player! Even the police came to his place several times to warn him about his loud music and lousy actions! However since the past week everything became silent! To the astonishment of the all the peeps living nearby! Maybe it's because of her presence! Oh man i forgot to ask her name! With that i got inside and saw her arranging the table, i cleared my throat and talked
"eh hey"
She turned around and gasped.
"oh my gosh! I'm sorry i made you stand with the goods! Here lemme take it!"
With that she turned around and went in the kitchen i suppose! i sighed again not really knowing what to do! I was feeling a bit weird being here! And the house was in a mess! Clothes were discarded every where, the living room was full of empty beer cans! I found this profoundly disgusting!
"oh look who's here! Hello mr neighbour!"
I turned around and saw Isaac coming down the stairs, dressed up with only his boxers and his hair were in a total hip hazard way! Probably he just woke up! Still not to be impolite, i smiled
"hey isaac!"
He came down and stood in front of me, honestly there was a unsupportable alcohol smell on him, i cringed away and saw that she came back in the living room, isaac went towards her and put his arm around her, i could deduce from her face expression that she was disturbed too, however she stayed quiet. I looked at them with a strange feeling in my gut, what is exactly their relationship! And to confirm what i was thinking, isaac pecked her cheek and said
"Baby you got my beer?"
She looked him and nodded
"umm it's in the fridge."
"that's like my good girl! Now excuse me!"
With that he went in the kitchen, while she looked at me and smiled slightly maybe because she was embarrassed! But what preoccupied me was that! She was his girlfriend! Girlfriend of That good for nothing! I felt that i was about to curse but i stayed cool! I took a deep breath, and brought my hand forward
"hey we met for a while now and i don't even know your name. Can i know your name? Oh i'm niall by the way Isaac's neighbour!"
She smiled and shook my hand and said
"i'm (y/n). Oh well yea i knew you were his neighbour as i saw you coming and going out from your house"
(y/n)! Her name is (y/n)! I smiled but soon felt my smile disappear as Isaac came in room with a beer can in his hand and he look at our hands, he grumbled and caught hold of (y/n)'s hand and snatched it from mine, he looked at me dead in the eyes and gave me a light punch on my chest then slurred out
"hey easy on my fiancée boy!"
I was flabbergasted! What! I must have misheard!
"fiancée?"
He nodded and showed the ring on (y/n)'s ring finger,
"my fiancée!"
This time i felt something really heavy on my chest! Is it a heart break? I don't know, still i faked a smile
"Well you guys look great together! All the best!"
No! No! Not all all! You guys don't look great together! How did a girl like (y/n) end up with a piece of shit like isaac! Not to let my true feelings come out, i preferred to go away,
"hey well guys it was fun to meet you! But i gotta leave now! See ya"
With that i turned to go before they could respond, but when i reached at the doorstep, (y/n) called me from behind
"hey niall! Wait!"
I turned and looked at her
"i feel that you don't really like isaac but he can be nice when he wants to. You know!"
I took a deep breath and said in a taunting voice
"oh yea then that's good for you!"
"hey come on now! There'll be a party next week for isaac and my engagement! So please do come!"
I studied her face expression, she didn't look happy but still not sad! She had a neutral expression. Without thinking i blurted out
"Are you really happy with a scum like him?"
She looked shocked but then sighed and replied
"it's not like i've got a choice! You know!"
with that she smiled sadly, i caught hold of her hand and said in a matter of fact tone
"Seriously this guy would never be serious towards you when he is not in his own shitty life! Just leave him (y/n)! You deserve better!"
She looked up at me and said in a painful voice
"I can't do that niall! It's my dad's friend son and they decided to make both the kids get married for the prosperous future of the company! And dad himself got us engaged! It's not like i can change anything! I can live with that!"
"Are you even in your senses! There are plenty of good guys in this world and you deserve to be with one! But not that scum! Tell that to your dad!"
with that i turned to go yet i looked behind and said
"It's really disappointing that a nice girl like you would destroy her life with a dickhead like isaac! But for your satisfaction i'll come to your party! Tell me the time and day!"
"Niall! Try to understand please! I know what you mean but i can't oppose my dad!"
I waited and spoke again this time I really felt my frustration and disappointment coming out
"Your dad is pissing me off alright! No one's got the right to put their daughter in such a crappy situation! That also for a meaningless business purpose! Shit! That dickhead inside doesn't even respect you! You can't make a girl buy beer for you! That's shameful and you can't stink with alcohol and press a kiss on your girl's cheek! That's disrespectful ! Jesus! That guy is self conceited and an irresponsible scum! I know him since 2 years! And i can tell you he's ain't worth it!"
"hey ehh lemme me help you to carry em till your house"
She looked at me apologetically and spoke
"I'm sorry! and thanks a loads! Eh please follow me"

And I guess you know what they're here for! And you plan to stay engaged to that asshole! Oh please stop pleasing others! Dad or no dad it's your own life damn it! It's not bout him but it's you! you who takes decisions! And you choose that dickhead! Like are you seriously kidding me right now!"
We both stayed quiet and looked at each other, but soon she downcast her eyes and hung her head low and her body started to tremble! Oh no she's crying! Without thinking i ran towards her and hugged her tight while pressing a kiss on top of her head,
"I'm sorry i said too much! I'm sorry! listen i'm here for you okay! You can rely on me at any time! I'll be here for you! I promise i will! i'll protect you and stand by you! I'll be with you!"
I could feel her tears on my shirt and her tiny frame was shaking in my arms, and even with that she nodded, i again pressed a kiss on her head and hugged her tighter! I promise you (y/n) i'll protect you and take you away from that scum! I know i will do it! And i can't wait for the day i have you in my arms like this forever though with a smile on your face.
